Two anniversaries lived in fraternity

During the month of November, two Congregation anniversaries united us in communion. Sr Agnès Miquel from Pontivy in France tells us how the Sisters lived these two days.

Tuesday the 25th November

For the 186th anniversary of the Congregation of the Daughters of Jesus of Kermaria, the parish priest Father Thomas first brought us together by celebrating Mass for us.

Sr Agnès Provost opened the celebration with these words of welcome:

“Today, on this 25th November, we celebrate the 186th anniversary of the Congregation of the Daughters of Jesus of Kermaria. This congregation was born in 1834. From the very beginning we have sought to honour Jesus in his humanity This spirituality of the Incarnation that we try to live is still relevant today. Like Jesus, we want to reveal God’s love and tenderness for each person, especially the poorest.”

Magnificat

The celebration closed with the song,

“Magnificat, magnificat,

great is the Lord who cares for mankind,

magnificat, magnificat,

praised be the God who generates life. »

We then came together over a meal. This allowed Father Thomas, who has just arrived in the parish, to get to know us and to discover our charism and mission.

Monday the 30th November

For the 200th anniversary of the Daughters of Jesus de Vaylats, we also had the chance to have a Eucharist, but this time with Father Xavier.

Agnès Miquel introduced the celebration with a few words: “It has been 200 years since Father Jean Liausu “had pity on this crowd” (Matthew 15, 32) and founded the Congregation of the Daughters of Jesus of Vaylats: to allow ourselves to be seized by Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh, to witness to the tenderness of God for every man, to the greatest glory of God”.

During his homily, Father Xavier gave thanks for this foundation and invited us to pray for all the Daughters of Jesus and for their mission.

“Thrill with joy”

The day ended with a meal rich in sharing. Together, let us continue to give thanks, to

“thrill with joy, thrill with joy, for your names are written in the heart of God”.
