On this December 17, 2023, we, the Daughters of Jesus of Rimouski, unite ourselves in thought and prayer to the very joyful celebration of the 70 years of presence of the Daughters of Jesus in Cameroon.
Yes, what a joy it is to unite with the pilgrims, Daughters of Jesus, postulants, aspirants and Associates, who today complete their festive march to N’Gaoundéré.
The celebration of the final vows of our sister Germaine Aoulassa brings this historic pilgrimage to a close. We rejoice with her. What a joy! What a joy!
Celebration
Our celebration of the Word takes up some of the texts that have been reflected on, prayed over and shared by the pilgrims during their journey. Lacking the melody of the theme song, we pray it as a psalm between the readings.
To make ourselves more present at this great celebration, we have decorated our prayer space with souvenirs from Cameroon.
Experiences
Nicole Tardif, Alice Beaudoin and Ursule Beaulieu come forth to share with us some of their experiences on African soil. We also underline Ruth Bérubé’s ten years of presence in Cameroon.
We thank God for all the graces, favors and blessings bestowed on the sisters and people of Cameroon over the years. We entrust to Him our African sisters who live today in their respective areas, the charism of the Daughters of Jesus. We ask the Lord to continue to call young women to work in the vineyard of our Congregation and elsewhere.
