Monsieur N’Zi Joël, member of the Associates of the Daughters of Jesus in Daoukro (Ivory Coast), shares with us their official appearance before the Christian community of the parish of Saints Peter and Paul in Daoukro.
« No one lights a lamp to put it under a tub; they put it on the lamp-stand where it shines for everyone in the house. »
Gospel of st Matthew, chapter 5, verse 15
A decisive moment
After its creation in May 2023, the Daoukro Associates group met once with the group of Associates in Brobo to welcome the Orientations of the 2022 General Chapter and to exchange experiences. After this trial period, we decided to take a step forward and present ourselves to the whole Christian community of Daoukro.
The group presents itself to the parish
The ceremony took place during the 7.30 am Mass on the 14th of January 2024 in the parish of Saint Peter and Saint Paul in Daoukro, in the presence of Sister Chrescence Beyala, Provincial of Africa, who was on a canonical visit to the Daoukro community.
What does it mean to be an Associate?
The purpose of this official presentation of the group was to explain to the entire Christian community what it means to be an Associate, and what our mission is. Above all, it was an invitation to those who feel attracted by our charism. Sister Pauline explained and outlined the charism of the Daughters of Jesus.
We commit ourselves
Dressed in their beautiful clothes, with the motif of the 70th Anniversary celebrations, the Associates reaffirmed their firm commitment to living the charism of the Daughters of Jesus, not only alongside the Sisters but also in their various professional, family, and pastoral environments.
« Lord, lead us all, hand in hand, on your road of Humanity »
Yes, we want to take this road of humanity and humanisation, following it as Jesus did. SisterPauline et Sister Christelle are no longer “ALONE” in Daoukro ! They have a “family of Daughters of Jesus”.
