The pandemic did not get the better of love and mutual aid

A group of Associates from Three Rivers, Canada, had to reinvent their annual way of raising funds in favor of the homeless in Choluteca, Honduras.

On February 28th 2021, Mr. Coronavirus canceled the annual potluck activity that was usually held in aid of the Home of Hope.

The 2020-21 Pandemic, with its demands, estrangement and loss of contact, did not get the better of Love and Mutual Aid. The Associates of the Daughters of Jesus of St. Stanislaus really wanted to express their solidarity and concern for all those who are more deeply affected by the impact of this situation.

A relay

The group of Associates «Mother Marie St. Elisabeth» launched an appeal to all. Instead of the annual potluck lunch, we decided to launch a fundraising activity in order to continue our support for the Home of Hope. We were indeed conscious that the homeless people of Choluteca were still relying on us.

Generosity

The local people allowed themselves to be deeply touched and most of them responded eagerly and generously. With a sense of noble pride and heartfelt gratitude, we are happy to share with you the results of our efforts: THREE THOUSAND, SIX HUNDRED AND FIFTY CANADIAN DOLLARS!

Gratitude

We sincerely thank all our Associates, for their generous and constant involvement. We once again witnessed the strength of our group! Thanks to each one of you.

The Home of Hope is already benefiting from

this wonderful expression of generous solidarity.

Mission accomplished!

Mr. Jean-Paul Rousseau,

Associate of the group Mère Ste-Elizabeth
