A weekend in Kermaria as a retreat was suggested to Christian Associates of the Congregation of the Daughters of Jesus for the 25th and 26th April 2009, as a time of meeting, fraternity, prayer and silence.

Thirteen Associates from Vannes, Lorient, Guidel, (in Brittany), as well as Chateaudun (Eure), replied positively, trusting the suggestions that Srs Marie Therese and Marie Rose would put to them for two days.

“Arriving at Kermaria as if we were at home said Joel,Marie Therese and Marie Rose embarked on a weekend in Galilee,” especially on the bank of lake Tiberias where Jesus and his apostles awaited us.

Like the apostles, with our two sisters, we followed Jesus through the Gospel of St John 21, 1-19.

What had Jesus in store for us? A miraculous catch

 

Miraculous catch in four stages:

• – Galilee
• – On the sea at night
• – The bank
• – The Mission

And for each of the stages:

• – Discovering the text
• – What the text is saying to me
• – A sharing
• – My prayer coming from the text

Sharing real life experiences, after a time of intense reflection each one was invited to express herself if she wished.

Sharing real life with respect, in confidence, in her own rhythm.

Sharing which enabled us to discover the miraculous catch in a new light.

the miraculous catch of fish!

 

How can we help feeling content in this atmosphere where everything breathes harmony, from beautiful floral gardens as well as the kindness of the sisters encountered our two days?

So much so that we found it hard to make our return journey.
