On Tuesday, the 25th of November, Sisters and lay Associates gathered in Kermaria, our motherhouse in France, to celebrate the 191st anniversary of the Congregation of the Daughters of Jesus, united with all the countries where the Congregation is present.
The entrance hymn invited us to ‘’keep the memory of the Lord alive’and to ‘remember his wonders.’ And there have been wonders in 191 years!
Homily

In his homily, Father Antoine reminded us: “Celebrating 191 years of the Daughters of Jesus and their Associates is a worthwhile ecclesial event. It is a blessed opportunity to give thanks to God, to thank him for the choice, the call, and the special vocation he has given to each one of us.
It is also an opportunity, as we entrust the future of the Congregation to him, to ask ourselves: in the light of the Word, what am I doing today with my mission at the heart of my vocation?“
Prayers of the faithful

We extended our prayer to the whole world:
“Most gracious Father, we give you thanks for all the deeds performed in everyday life by our founders and foundresses, who were always concerned to help the poorest. Today, in a different context, grant us the ability to recognise the needs of our contemporaries and thus honour the holy humanity of your Son.“
“We give you thanks for the young people who are committing themselves to religious life, whether with the Daughters of Jesus or elsewhere. We pray for all those who are questioning their future, who are searching for their voice. Send them, we pray, your Spirit of light and strength.“
