Sister Marie Agnès Thériault, in religion Sister Marie Thérèse Emma, Fille de Jésus, of Riverview, Moncton, passed away on Saturday January 7, 2023 at Monarch Hall. She was 95 years old, and in the 72th year of her religious profession. Born in Comeauville, NS, she was the daughter of the late Simeon and Marie-Anne (LeBlanc) Thériault.

The community will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) where the funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday, January 12 at 10 am. Visiting hours are Thursday from 9 am until the time of the funeral. The interment will be at Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe.

Sister Agnès devoted herself to teaching for 35 years, then to catechesis, pastoral care, and volunteering in schools. For a few years, she also worked with deaf mutes after learning sign language. She was highly regarded and much loved by her students as well as parents and the community. She was endowed with a jovial character and lively repartee, which made her a pleasant companion.

Besides her Filles de Jésus Sisters, she is survived by her niece, Sheila Thériault-Law, and a special friend, Karen. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters and brothers: Benoit, Thérèse, Élie, Anita, and Normand.
