There where our Mission sends us, we are workers for peace
The Daughters of Jesus in Colombia thank you for the prayers said for them and their mission during the month of October. They share with you some experiences of prayer in this country that has so much need of peace.
Thanks again for this fraternal prayer that united our country with all of the Congregation during the month of October. Here is an example of a situation in which we have lived gestures of solidarity in favour of peace in our country, simple and concrete actions which, read by the light of faith, become the seed of the Kingdom.
In order to sow, you must first know your ground well; in this case the San José Kindergarden in La Reliquia, a very working-class area of Villavicencio where the community of sisters sensitise these small seeds to gestures of peace by a integral education which unconsciously works for the construction of a more just society and for a humanity capable of peace and of freedom!
PEACE DEMONSTRATION BY THE CHILDREN AND LITTLE GIRLS OF THE CDI (CENTRE FOR INTEGRAL DEVELOPMENT) SAN JOSE
This Friday the San Jose Infant School organised a march with the children, the parents, all of the school staff and the sisters. A large procession set off from the school, and took the main road in the neighbourhood to arrive at our parish, Mary, Mother of God. The slogan for the march was « choose Peace under all circumstances » …..
For the whole of the route we sang, we cried for joy, held up mottos and brandished banners.
Once at the church, everyone came together in a prayerful celebration with a song of Peace, a short reflection on the subject and a prayer of intercession composed by the parents. So this beautiful experience came to an end while recalling that the work of education for peace is a lifelong work.
