World Day of Peace is an important day to celebrate as it concerns the whole world. That’s why on this occasion, we organized a special symbolic event at the Lokia residence in Three Rivers.
On this beautiful sunny day, we organized a flight of butterflies, outdoors, on the footbridge, on the banks of the St Maurice River.
Filles de Jésus and Ursulines together
More than 70 people were present during the event. There were the “independent living” Daughters of Jesus and Ursulines, as well as several Sisters from the chronic, intermediate and physical sectors. Each one needing care was accompanied by a Sister who kindly responded to the request.
Messages of Peace
The afternoon began with a special snack in the cafeteria accompanied by messages of peace and music. This was followed by a walk outside to the meeting point for the flight of butterflies.
Signs were placed in the grounds so that the Sisters could find their way. The flight was a sweet, beautiful and unifying moment. We were able to take advantage of the beautiful weather to sing, make bubbles, and chat. There were only smiles and happy faces!
A big thank you to all the people who contributed to the success of this first, big and beautiful event!

Our common home
This beautiful day reminded us of how beautiful and immense creation is. Each one let her heart be moved by holding in her hand this fragile butterfly ready to take flight towards freedom, towards its LIFE. But let us remember that this creation is given to us, “that it is our common home, and that we must take care of it” (Acts of Chapter 2016). My heart repeats this prayer, “Lord, help us to live in harmony with your creation.”

Agnès, I appreciate all you are doing for the sisters and associates. This ceremony was very meaningful and helped the sisters to realize all of life is precious and there is always new life springing forth some where.
