Noticing the needs of the poor in the vicinity of our Provincial House in Moncton, Sr Marie Saulnier, Moncton, N. B. Canada, had the desire, according to her means and abilities, to come to the aid of our brothers and sisters in need.
It’s often said that even the greatest adventure always begins with a first step. Our Sister Marie now living in Royal Court, Riverview, NB. Canada, dared, 24 years ago, to take a first step that has taken her far.
Dedicated group of volunteers

Right from the start, thanks to her usual enthusiasm, she was able to encourage other companions to the cause, and little by little, there they were, knitting sweaters, mittens, slippers and shawls. And every year, as Christmas approached, a sale was organized. The proceeds were shared with an organization that helps the impoverished.
Following our move to Riverview, some of the Sisters and residents became interested in the project. Over time, the group “Busy Hands” was born. Many outsiders also participated, donating objects, wool, fabrics, money and their talents.
True solidarity

And so, 24 years later, Marie was able to see her goal come true. From the outset to last Christmas, the sum of $100,000 was donated to various organizations. Children and adults will have been less hungry, warmer, the impoverished will have had better living conditions, and palliative care patients will have benefited.
Thanks to all
Congratulations and thank you, Marie! Thank you to all your team-mates! Good luck with what is to come, as needles, hooks and decorations are already in the making! For valiant hearts, always more, always better!
