“Leave your country … for the land I will show you.”

For 21 years, at the demand of the Diocese of Limoges, 7 Daughters of Jesus assured a presence among the population of Bessines sur Gartempe (34 km from Limoges, France).

The mission of the community was to assure a “presence” among the working-class population, each sister engaging herself in different ways according to her possibilities : pastoral, home-help ….

At the end of August 2015, sister Brigitte and sister Alice left this welcoming Limousin community. On the 29th and 30th August 4 Daughters of Jesus held a “garage sale”, during which they heard many expressions full of emotion :”

“We are going to miss them.”
“We liked meeting them.”
“They were present to everyone, believers and non-believers alike.
“And the funeral celebrations led by Brigitte!”

The municipality also deserve a mention for the goodwill they showed to the sisters th roughout their 21 years of presence.

Alice and Brigitte have joined a community in Brittany to continue their mission there.
