A group of twenty-five Associates of the Congregation of the Daughters of Jesus met at the Motherhouse, Kermaria, in Brittany from the 18th to the 20th of November 2022, to deepen the charism of the Daughters of Jesus, in relation to the Gospel.
Presentation of the session
Sisters Henriette Danet, Anne-Marie Sergent, responsible for the Associates and Anne Thirion, the Provincial of France welcomed the participants who came from :
– Brittany,
– the Paris region,
– the South-West.
The session-retreat then began with evening prayer in praise of the Lord, followed by a presentation of the weekend.
Course of the session
During the two days, after a time of morning prayer, we experienced :
– a very rich teaching on “the fire of the origins” of the congregations starting from the poorest.
– a deepening of the charism to “Honour the Sacred Humanity of the Son of God” (Rule of Life no 3).
This honouring of Jesus in his humanity in order to reach the Father, is the foundation of the spirituality of the Daughters of Jesus.
Times of personal reflection in silence and sharing in small groups allowed us, in the light of the Gospel, to experience very rich exchanges in order to reach our own poverty.
We give thanks to the Lord
for all that we have been given to experience
listening to the Word.
Personal testimony
“After discovering the magnificent site of Kermaria, I was particularly touched by the welcome, the closeness and the attentiveness of the Sisters during this weekend. It was an important time of meeting, reunion and fraternity, but also of teaching and discovery of the charism of the Daughters of Jesus starting from the poor and, in fact, from my own poverty. This allowed me to rediscover Jesus “made man” and to come closer to Him in his human condition in order to reach the Father, the Father of us all.
The weekend gave me strength and energy in this faith that animates me to live the Gospel in my daily life, in a world that so needs to know the infinite Love of the Father.
A huge thank you to all of you and especially to Sisters Henriette Danet, Anne-Marie Sergent and Anne Thirion for their availability and their kindness.
We look forward to seeing you again soon. Fraternally yours and have a good journey during this time of Advent.
