This past weekend, September 19–20, 2026, a major event took place at the Boulevard Magenta community in Rennes, France.

But what happened that famous weekend? Unbelievable but true! An auction… in the community’s garden!
And what kind of auction was it? An auction of works by our sister Lysette MAZO, a painter and sculptor, organized and supported by an association called “Les amis de Lise Mazo.”
Welcoming Remarks

In her welcome remarks, Sister Anne THIRION, Provincial, who was invited to speak, explained the purpose of this sale: “The proceeds from this sale will go to our elderly sisters, those who are ill, receiving care, or living in nursing homes—a group that now includes Lysette. Thank you to all of you who have come out in such large numbers and who are interested in the works of Sister Lysette MAZO. Above all, thank you to Lysette for bringing us together on this splendid late-summer day. …”
The Auction

Thus, a selection of her highly colorful works—revealing the full range of her creativity—was put up for auction, an event magnificently orchestrated by the enthusiastic and dynamic auctioneer, Ms. Carole JEZEQUEL. For some, it was a moment of excitement; for others, one of calm and serenity; and for still others, a moment filled with emotion.
All twenty-six selected works found buyers that afternoon!
Many other works were also on display for direct sale to the public—“high-quality works, inspired by a talented artist whom we admire greatly”—and offered at affordable prices.
The Visitors
Visitors came and went freely between the workshop and the various booths, reflecting, finally making their choices, and leaving—some with a painting, others with a sculpture, or other creations.
These two days of fellowship were, for both the visitors and the sisters, a wonderful time of sharing, sisterhood, and friendship. And as Lysette wrote in the brochure, “A Path Toward the Absolute .”
May this creative work prompt visitors to reflect and help them discover a little of the divine mystery in every setting.
Thank you to Lysette, the “Friends of Lise Mazo” Association, and the Magenta community.
