In Rimouski, Canada, from October 6 to 13, 2025, the sisters of the General Council will be visiting us. We are happy to welcome them to share with us this important time in the life of our Congregation, the Daughters of Jesus.
After a short welcome meeting and a good night’s sleep, on the morning of the 7th, our five travelers are already at work preparing the meeting-room where we are to gather at 2 p.m.
Moving forward in this world

From the beginning of the assembly, as we entered the meeting-room, we were placed in a situation of encounter … a magnificent wall display reminded us that it is with all the Daughters of Jesus working throughout the world that we are setting out on a wonderful journey, bearing the colors of the times, to seek together how to move forward in this world where we live and work.
Our predecessors are also here with us through the presence of Mother St. Angèle, who was the first to set out on this path that is ours today.
We take a few minutes to get to know each other or renew the bonds that unite us.
What joy!
Before getting to the core of our meeting, during which we will look at our future together, the General Council shared information with us about Kermaria’s experiences since the 2022 chapter. (Technical language, what a wonderful discovery to bring the message to life!)

Importance of our charism
With the images and information provided, we see the entire evolution of the project accomplished since 2022 on the future of the mission of our dear Kermaria of France. We thereby discover the importance of our Charism: aware of living our commitment deeply, that of being bearers of the Gospel by humanizing in the manner of Christ and acting out of love and respect for our world. How much awareness and commitment have we not gained by opening our doors to those who need and will need a place to live. Isn’t this part of our commitment to “integral ecology”?

We listen to the testimony of our young professed sisters; having lived an international novitiate, their commitment to follow Christ invites us to live with them in greater openness to the world.
The Moment of God’s Word
It is with Jesus’ words to Peter that we enter the second part of our meeting.
“Peter, do you love me?”
Like Peter, we are invited to reflect personally. Our response commits us to the future.
“Follow me.”

Through prayer, small group sharing, and exchanges with the associates, we discover the strength and value of our commitment. Together, we act in solidarity with one another, remaining attentive to the needs of the world around us.
Internationality
In the Congregation, we have the opportunity to experience internationality: it becomes a source of strength and dynamism for a broader commitment.
It is in faith and trust that we are called to a greater openness to discover all the possibilities available to us and to live them in the manner of Jesus, with the strength of the Holy Spirit. It is in the continuity of our commitment to Integral Ecology that we set out again.

Being sent on mission confirms our commitment. A well-deserved thank you.
Patricia extends a special thank you to the Leadership team who for several years, with strength, courage, love, and a great deal of patience, have been working to bring the project of the Daughters of Jesus in Rimouski to fruition.

A big thank you to Patricia, Elizabeth, Colette, Dora, and Ruthina for all the precious moments we have shared with them. They further strengthen our sense of belonging to the Congregation.
Jeannine D’Amours and Ursule Beaulieu FJ.
