Daughters of Jesus of Kermaria and Daughters of Jesus of Vaylats (Lot, France) font ” Alliance“
A path of collaboration began between the two Congregations in the year 2000.
By stages we ploughed a farrow that became a route of communication.
and then a way to an “Alliance.”
This event was celebrated on July 1st. 2011 at Vaylats, the foundation place of the Daughters of Jesus of Vaylats. During the Mass the Monsignor Turini, Bishop of Cahors, recalled that as in the sacrament of marriage, ” each Congregation gave to the other and received from the other in order to live a renewed fraternity.”
It is an event, ” an important moment in the history of two religious families, an event which deeply touches each one .” In the words of sister Elizabeth Blanc , Superior General of the daughters of Jesus of Vaylats.
It is a path of death, of loss, “but which opens up a wider space for a life which continues to produce much fruit and to be a “ Gospel sign together.”
Moments of strong symbols marked events along the way of the celebration:
The entrance procession carrying the portraits of the two founding father Pere Liausu and Pere Noury.
In front of the altar :
Two strips of cloth joined the two portraits of Pere Noury and Pere Liausu
which together held a symbolic bouquet of flowers
gathered by our two Congregations during its long history.
In the courtyard, two stone rings interlaced which would receive in the mixed earth the seeds of rich promise.
In a procession where a Daughter of Jesus of Vaylats
was accompanied by a Daughter of Jesus of Kermaria
to receive the Rule of Life, and the Cross ,
sign that we are one people who can listen to the promise
“ You will be my people and I will be your God…”
At the sign of peace and mutual welcome , a long moment of shared fraternity.
