From April the 1st to the 4th, 2026, Sister Floriselva Corrales Baca took part in a Holy Week mission with the Sisters of the Queen of Peace, the Delegates of the Word of God, and the Youth Ministry in the village of San Juan de Linaca, Danlí El Paraíso, Honduras.
A period of service
The Congregation of the Sisters of the Queen of Peace is affiliated with the Catholic University of Danlí, while the Delegates of the Word of God are a group of laypeople who visit the villages when priests are not available to celebrate Mass. Each year, the parish organizes a mission period during Holy Week to participate in liturgical celebrations at the village churches; this is where various parish groups, particularly religious congregations, gather and set out together for this important time in the Church.

An experience of faith

During these days, it was an enriching experience to share this journey of faith during Holy Week with the people who welcomed us on each visit we made and during the celebrations at the church. I am deeply gratified by the significance they attached to our presence during our stay; they welcomed us with such fraternal love.
The risen Jesus, present in our history

I concluded my mission experience with the Easter Vigil celebration.
The Resurrection of Jesus is the heart of Christianity. It is the proof of God’s infinite love and the guarantee of our hope. To believe in the Resurrection is to believe that life has meaning, that evil does not prevail, and that we are called to eternal life with God. The experience of encountering the Risen Christ profoundly transforms people, inspiring them to share the Good News.
