At the Résidence Lokia in Trois-Rivières, Canada, on Saturday June 14, Sister Micheline Cormier, Regional Superior of the Daughters of Jesus, invited associates from our region to take part in a training session on the theme of water.  This project was part of the implementation of one of the General Chapter’s orientations on integral ecology.

Science united with the Word of God

This training course, given by Micheline, assisted by Pauline Lessard and Thérèse Moisan, President of Afj, was conducted by Sister Denise Lirette, Daughter of Jesus from Moncton, New Brunswick.  The distinctive feature of Sister Denise Lirette’s is to combine the latest scientific research with the Word of God, whereas in our society we tend to oppose the two.

Water is alive

The meeting began with the viewing of a video available on the Internet entitled “The secret power of water”.  And there we discovered the complexity of this resource, whose secrets scientists have yet to exhaust.  Among other things, we learned that water reacts to human emotions.  Like the earth, water is not just a resource. It’s alive!

Final message

First realization: how ignorant we are of the nature and complexity of everything around us!

The second part consisted in writing on a piece of paper, in the shape of a drop of water, what we wanted to say to the water. These “water drops” were filled with praise, thanks and expressions of gratitude to water and its Creator.  The whole assembly was filled with these same sentiments towards those who made this unique and enriching training possible, whose most successful objective was to convert our view of water.
