15 of the 16 Daughters of Jesus in Edmonton, Canada, joyfully gathered together on the 22 March 2017 at the Providence Centre to celebrate the 95th birthday of the eldest sister of the Province, Alice Trottier.
A time for fraternity and giving thanks
Welcoming as always the Sisters of Providence had reserved a small room for us where we could celebrate together. We first gave thanks for Alice’s life … for all that she has given to the Congregation and to our Vice-province as historian, educator and companion in community. It was then time to share a delicious afternoon tea along with many memories, stories and moments of fraternity.
Alice gives thanks
« I see my life as a tapestry that the Creator has woven day by day and moment by moment.
I believe in this infinite action that has constantly created me for 95 years now.
I began this birthday by celebrating the Eucharist in the beautiful chapel of the Sisters of Providence.
Then we had had this afternoon’s wonderful celebration with the Daughters of Jesus followed by the meal that has brought together
my ten nephews and nieces. It has been a happy day full of joy and good humour. May God bless the 95 years that he, in his mercy, had granted me. »
« I will bless the Lord at all times … His love is so strong and his name is so great ! »
