In January 2026, I was sent to the community of Choluteca, in Honduras, to take part in a humanization experience alongside people in vulnerable situations.

Since May, I have been volunteering at L’Arche Choluteca, supporting people with disabilities. There, I share my daily life with the residents, most of whom use wheelchairs or are completely dependent on others.

I also work with both residential and day students. They participate in various arts-and-crafts workshops and share their lives with others. Together, we create items such as costume jewelry, piñatas (hollow containers, traditionally made of papier-mâché or terracotta, richly decorated and filled with candy, small toys, or confetti), and sublimation-printed items. These are then sold at exhibitions and various events organized by the town hall and local universities.
Encounters That Transform
For me, being at L’Arche is much more than just volunteering. It is an experience of encounter and service.

It is a concrete way to live out the charism of “Honoring the Holy Humanity of Jesus” by imitating His virtues. Every encounter helps me to become more human and to bring a human touch to others as Jesus did.
L’Arche teaches me to love and serve with an open heart, so that I may welcome others. In this way, this mission becomes for me a path of service, joy, and encounter with Jesus.
