On June 22nd and 23nd, the Daughters of Jesus from the sector of N’Gaoundéré (North Cameroon) met to say good-bye to Chrescence Beyala on the occasion of her departure towards her new mission in the South.

Sr. Chrescence was called by the Congregation to assume her new mission as Provincial Superior for Africa. She will join Yaoundé and officially take up her new responsibilities on August 15th.

Up to now she lived in Bini-Dang and was the treasurer at the Mazenod High School and was in charge of the construction of a Centre for the diocese of N’Gaoundéré. She also accompanied the aspirants to religious life for the Daughters of Jesus.

So, on June 22nd, the communities of Laï (Chad) and Karna (Cameroon) joined that of Bini-Dang for a time of rejoicing, thanksgiving, prayer and celebration. The aspirants were present with them in the evening.

· A prayer of thanksgiving and intercession;

“Your hand leads me; your right hand holds me fast; you have laid your hand upon me”.

The Word of God that day invited us to trust: «Your Heavenly Father knows what you need» Mt 6, 32. In this spirit we gave thanks for Chrescence’s “yes” and entrusted her mission to the Lord.

This prayer of thanksgiving also included this year’s lived experience in our communities and was shared with the aspirants. Accompanied by a very beautiful song, Beatrice, Elisabeth and Prisca expressed their joy in pursuing their journey with the Daughters of Jesus.

· We joyfully met around the table, to exchange and recall souvenirs. This happy atmosphere continued through the following day until our departure.

· A time to strengthen our intercultural and intergenerational relationships whether we come from Cameroon, the Ivory Coast, the Democratic Republic of Congo, France…and even if our ages range from 25 to almost 80… Yes, a privilege to have with us the eldest of the Province, Jeannine Le Strat, who will celebrate 60 years of religious life in 2020.

May you find happiness and fulfillment in this new mission, Chrescence; we are with you, following «Jesus who leads us on his paths of humanity. »
