It was in an atmosphere of joy, prayer, and thanksgiving that the celebration of our Sister Deborah’s perpetual vows took place on August 23, 2026, in Idofia, Democratic Republic of the Congo.
A Definitive “Yes”

Surrounded by her sisters, her family, priests, consecrated women, and many Christian faithful, she offered the Lord a free and definitive “YES,” a sign of a love that chooses to give itself entirely to God and to the service of His people. The Mass was celebrated at Saint Kisito Cathedral in Idiofa (Kinshasa) by Bishop JOSE MOKO EKANGA of the Diocese of Idiofa. This celebration was a particularly meaningful moment for the entire Christian community of Idiofa.
Keeping Our Eyes Fixed on Christ

In his address, Bishop JOSE encouraged Sister DEBORA to remain faithful to her commitment, to keep her eyes fixed on CHRIST, and to make her consecrated life a living witness to God’s love, while remaining rooted in the world. He also invited the assembly—especially the young people—not to be afraid to respond to the Lord’s call. Through Sister Deborah’s definitive “YES,” the entire Church rejoices and is reminded that God continues to call men and women to consecrate their lives to Him.
Renewal of Vows

This Sunday, August 23, 2026, in Idiofa, in addition to Sr. Deborah’s perpetual vows, seven young professed sisters renewed their vows. It was a privilege for us to join in this event to reaffirm our “yes” to the Lord once again and to give Him thanks for His faithfulness that accompanies us day after day. Renewing our “YES” after witnessing a definitive commitment means saying with confidence that, despite our frailties, His grace is sufficient for us.
On the Path of Humanity

As we reflect on these beautiful memories of Idiofa, we hold in our hearts the witness of faithfulness to God above all else. Sister Deborah’s final “YES” and the renewal of vows by the seven young professed sisters invite us to move forward with confidence on the path of humanity. May these graces we have received continue to foster within us love, fidelity, and the desire to give ourselves ever more fully to the Lord and to keep the fire of charity ever burning.
